Strong Early Cross-Country Season Results

Thunderbird athletes have been recordeing some great results over the first two weeks of the cross-country season.

At the Pinetree Classic in Coquitlam Trevor Knechtel, Jordan Maynard, and Katrina Allison all won their respective divisions, while Madison Wong, Shaunika Suriya , Michael Mitchell, Willem Palaty, Peter Milobar and Nazde Edeer all had strong runs to finish in good positions.

At the Whistler Spirit Run  Colin Mitchell, Kieran Lumb and Shaunika Suriya won their divisons, while at the prestigous Stanford High School Cross-Country Meet, Christan Gravel, just back from his trip to the Commonwealth Youth Championships, finished an impressive  9th place overall (3rd in his division) against some of the best cross-country runners in North America. Chloe Cady won her first race as a Thunderbird while running at South Fraser Cross-Country Meet.

Christian Gravel places 6th at Commonwealth Youth Games

Thunderbird athlete, Christian Gravel, placed 6th in the 1500m final at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Isle of Man, Great Britain with a time of 3:58.81. This was his first opportunity to run for the Canadian National Team and we are thrilled with how well he represented our club and our country. Well done, Christian!
