TBirds run tough in Prince George

Several Thunderbird runners were in action on Saturday, November 3rd at the BC High School Championships in Prince George. The runners were faced with snow, freezing conditions, and a challenging course. In the girls division, Calli Charlton placed 6th; an outstanding result for a grade 9. Calli was followed by Madeline Pringle (39th), Leiah Kirsh (43rd), Sophia Quinn (73rd), Nazde Edeer (115th), Mine Celebi (169th), and Madison Wong (174th). It is worth noting that Leiah Kirsh lost one of her shoes at the start of the race and ran the entire 4.5km race wearing only one shoe. Impressive toughness!

On the boys side, Braeden Charlton duplicated his sisters result with a 6th place finish. Trevor Knechtel (15th) and Matthew So (18th) also finished in the top 20. Other Thunderbirds competing in the boys division were Brodie Marshall (58th), Daniel Goh (60th), Max Trummer (63rd), Christian Favreau (67th), Kieran Lumb (87th), Thomas Broatch (129th), and Matthew Taylor (133rd).

The Thunderbirds would like to thank the meet organizers for putting on a very well organized and successful BC's; our runners had a great experience!
