TBirds at Canadian Senior Nationals

The Thunderbirds were represented at the 2013 Canadian Track and Field Championships in Moncton, New Brunswick by Rachel Cliff and Erica Digby. They both contested a tactical 1500m final that saw Erica cross the line in 7th with a time of 4:24.02 and Rachel 8th with a time of 4:24.62. Later that day, Rachel crossed the line in 5th position in the 5000m with a time of 16:35.56. Both athletes will be in action in the 1500m at the Harry Jerome Track Classic on Canada Day. Congratulations Rachel and Erica!

Success at JD Pentathlon

Congratulations to all of the 21 Thunderbird athletes that took part in the JD Pentathlon Championships in White Rock. As a club we had 11 top ten finishes, with Jessica Kieffer leading the way with a placing second in the 9 year old girls’ age group; Paul Fisher, returning to regular competition after a long hiatus, narrowly missing third place in the boys’ 13 year old competition.  Way to go!
