TBIRDS Round out their Cross Country Season at the Provincial Championships
Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 11:37PM Under clear blue skies the Provincial Cross-Country Championships took place at Aldergrove Park this past Saturday. Twenty one TBIRDS competed in their respective age groups; the highlights being a 1,2 finish by by Katrina Allison and Kansas MacKenzie in the Girls’ Youth race, and second place finishes by both Trevor Knechtel and Kieran Lumb. Way to go !!! Everyone completed admirably, putting in the kind of effort that shows well on our athletes. Congratulations everyone.
The championships were also the finale for the JD Cross-Country Series, in which athletes accumulate points from their best three races. Marie-Louise Forsyth, Madison Wong and Michael Mitchell all earned bronze medal finishes, Kieran Lumb earned a silver, and Trevor Knechtel earned a gold finish. The series results are shown at the bottom of the page and while the award winners are to be congratulated, the accomplishments of everyone who competed during the cross-country season should be recognised as they represent many hours of training. Well done everyone!!!
