THUNDERBIRD PERFORMANCES AT THE BC HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The club had a total of 26 athletes compete at the BC High School Championships.

High light of the meet for the club was the emergence of Rhiannon Evans, having the race of her life to finish 8th, a mere 22 seconds out of the medals. Way to go Rhiannon!

All the girls who followed her across the finish line had strong performances: Erin Potter returning from mono, Allison Perrin capping an emergent cross-country season and Kansas Mackenzie, battling a foot injury.

In the boys race, the top performer was Willy Cliff in 13th, chased closely to the line by Christian Gravel and Braden Neufeld; a commendable performance also by Tim Smith, an 800 runner stepping up to cross-country, never an easy feat.

In the Junior race there were strong performances by Peggy Noel, Amanda Chronkhite and Katrina Allison.
